A high rise towball is a must for towing English and European caravans that are fitted with an AKS stabilizer coupling. This coupling reduces caravan sway when towing. It is also necessary to fit the included locking adaptor plate, this ensures the towball cannot rotate and work the nut loose. Failure to fit a high rise towball and adaptor plate can result in the towball working loose and even the caravan falling off the towbar. The towball has a black oxide finish, not chrome plated. Chrome plated towballs will wear and the residue can damage stabilizer couplings. This heavy duty 50mm high rise towball with 3/4" shank is designed to fit NZ fixed tounge 75mm wide towbars, it boasts a hefty 2000Kg weight rating. They have been load tested and comply with the load ratings as per NZS5232:1993
